Moving Forward Into 2024
31/12/2023
2023 is finally coming to a close and naturally it is imperative to look back upon the last 12 months in review of all that has been said and done, achieved and not achieved, fucked and unfucked.
For me, I don’t particularly look back with relish; In fact, I’m glad it’s over. 2023 was a year of stop-and-starts, reversals, and unkept promises - mostly related to this Substack and my channel, and next year I plan to change that.
As readers of my last post will know, I have spent the better part of my spare festive time working on content for the channel. What I failed to mention was that the content I was working on is also going to extend to this Substack.
To begin I just want to state that these Sunday posts will remain the same. I think it would be unfair to drastically change the whole point of this Substack seeing as the people who have subscribed have done so for one reason: to keep up to date with the behind-the-scenes of The Selador. Therefore, I just want to clarify that the changes in this Substack will only be in regards to things added, not taken away.
In a few days I will be posting to detail what those changes will be.
In regards to the channel I have three videos in the works: What I read This Year (this will be followed by monthly “What I Read in X”), a video on Perfectionism (essentially just an essay on the trait and the antithetical nature of it), and of course, my video on No Longer Human.
Going into the new year I will be posting more regularly on both The Selador and this Substack. The stressful bullshit that comes along with moving 200 miles away from home threw everything into disarray at the tail-end of this year, but now, with the clean slate of a new year beginning and a more structured routine, I intend to spur on the steady growth of this Substack and my channel.
Expect more to come.
Happy New Year.
